Leda Stott


International specialist in multi-stakeholder collaboration

Leda is an international specialist in multi-stakeholder collaboration. Over the last 25 years she has worked in the management, training and evaluation of partnership projects and processes between different social actors for intergovernmental bodies such as the European Commission, United Nations and World Bank, as well as bilateral development agencies in Germany, Spain and the UK, and a wide range of foundations, businesses and non-governmental organisations.

Leda has a PhD on the topic of partnership from the University of Edinburgh and has taught on postgraduate programmes relating to this theme at universities in the UK, Spain, Norway and South Africa. She is a Research Fellow with the Innovation and Technology for Development Centre at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and an Associate of the Partnership Brokers Association.

Currently working to support the development of the European Community of Practice on Partnership (ECoPP), Leda’s expert activities with the European Commission have included the management of learning exchanges between Development Partnerships for the EQUAL Community Initiative (2003-4); preparation of partnership peer reviews and guidance materials for the Community of Practice on Partnership in the European Social Fund (ESF) (2007-11) and facilitation of the ESF Transnational Platform’s Thematic Network on Partnership (2015-19).

Leda has also contributed to a variety of workshops, seminars and conferences on partnership, social and civic dialogue for different EU funds and programmes. Some of her recent publications include: Partnerships for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (2021), How European Social Fund Managing Authorities and Intermediate Bodies Support Partnership, Revised Edition (2019) and Shaping Sustainable Change - The role of partnership brokering in optimising collaborative action (2018).
